LORAIN, OHIO NAtive and musicians institute graduate, ashton thomas is well regarded as a drum virtuoso. he is certainly noted for his thorough technique and expansive creativity around the instrument.

born & raised in a musical family, he suspected music would be a key factor in his life to one extent or another, but it wasn't until his freshmen year of high school that he started practicing daily and cultivating his craft. "That was such a pivotal point in my life," he says. "i could always play drums, but i had never shown a passion or interest to that effect before, so i'm sure everyone started to look at me as a total different person."

throughout his professional career, which began at the age of 16, he has contributed to over 100 recordings and has toured worldwide with various artists and groups. his credits include: audacity for sale, De'sean jones & the urban art orchestra, abstract sounds, kinsman dazz band, jay t. Hairston, jessica care moore, b. nicole, sheefy mcfly, and the late great amp fiddler just to name an endless few.

aside from recording and touring extensively, he also serves as a private drum instructor for several organizations, teaching students from the beginner to advanced levels.
