BIO

Lorain, Ohio (USA) native, Ashton Thomas is well regarded as a drum virtuoso. A graduate of the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, he is certainly noted for his expansive creativity and thorough technique around the instrument.

Coming up in a musical family, it was certain that music would always be apart of his life to one extent or another. However, it wasn't until his freshmen year of high school that he decided he wanted to pursue a drumming career. It was then that he joined the marching band, jazz band, and orchestra of the now defunct Lorain Admiral King High School. "That was the turning point in my life," he says. "On the outside looking in, I'm sure, I appeared to be a total different person at that point, because it wasn't until then that I started even expressing an interest in music, although the passion to play was always there."

Over the course of his professional career, which began at the age of 16, he has played on more than 100 recordings and has toured worldwide with various artists, playing a variety of genres including Jazz, R&B, Gospel, and Hip-Hop. His credits include, De'Sean Jones, J. Drew, Jessica Care Moore, Sheefy McFly, B. Nicole, Jay T Hairston II, and the late great Amp Fiddler just to name an endless few. Aside from recording and touring extensively, he has served as both a private and joint drum instructor since 2009, teaching from beginner to advanced level students.
